So this is the best picture I can give you of the Rimpoche. He is inside this car to protect him from the mobs of people. There is a huge fabric umbrella over the car as well as yellow and white katas. A kata is given for both religious and relational purposes. The Tibetans give katas like we give cards but for them it is a HUGE sign of respect to give one. Usually the kata is placed around your neck but here because the Rimpoche is in the car they are throwing them to him.
