There are many villages across the lake in Pokhara but no schools. The kids have to paddle across the lake everyday (rain or shine) to go to school. I love this picture because the kid in the front of the boat is finishing his homework during the "boat-bus" ride. Classic!
Kristin with one of our great Tibetan friends named "Pricilla". She and her husband traveled with us to Pokhara. She is amazing and I am so thankful for her. Aren't our cowboy hats sweet?

We traveled about 5 hours by micro bus to this beautiful town named Pokhara west of Kathmandu. We went there mainly to visit the 3 large Tibetan refugee camps that are there and to meet up with some important Tibetans and Nepalis that we haven't met yet. It was a great trip and we got to relax some and enjoy the quieter pace of this city compared to Kathmandu. Nepalis consider Pokhara the "resort city" of Nepal. It does have a beautiful lake and if it is clear you can see AMAZING views of the mountains.
