These two girls are actually from India. They live in Nepal in an Indian community made up mostly of beggars. I was walking around my town with two of my friends the other day and met up with these girls. The girl next to me is named Bimala. She speaks great English and has such a great heart for the poor people in her community and family. She invited us back to her home for tea. It was such a special time of sharing and getting to experience a new way of life. The homes in this community are made up of bamboo sticks that are covered in blue and black tarps. The floors are dirt. It was humbling and was just another reminder of how blessed and fortunate we are.
Here is one of the ladies that lives upstairs from us. She works for our landlord. She cooked us a wonderful Nepali lunch of rice, lentils, chicken and curried vegetables. Keane and Gracie ate some of it and afterwards she took Keane and washed off his hands.
