Last weekend we put up our Christmas tree. Finding a good Christmas tree is not always easy here in Kathmandu. The first few years we were here we would go to one of the local nurseries and just buy a small potted pine tree and put that in our home and decorate it. Every year we had good intentions of keeping it alive throughout the year and then using it the following year but every year (sad to say) we didn't take great care of them and they eventually died. However, 2 years ago we moved into our current apartment and Ryan and I bought a new potted tree a bit bigger than the previous years. This new house has a gardener who comes a few times a week (not our gardener but our apartment owner hires him) and so two years ago when we were finished with our tree for Christmas we brought the tree downstairs and the gardener has been taking care of it since then (including the time that we were in the states last year) so this year we have a HUGE (for Nepal), beautiful tree in our home. Keane and Gracie love it and have been great about not taking ornaments off of it. We had fun decorating it and a little of the house.
I love this picture of Gracie. It think it is so cute.
Keane and Gracie...it is so hard to get a good picture of the two of them together looking at the camera these days they are so active and always want to get into everything. It is hard to keep them still even for a few seconds.
Sweet Gracie playing with a red basin...
Love this face!
A few months ago I saw this big aligator at the store here and had to buy it for Keane. He really loves it. His name is Swampy and sometimes he just holds it and sits with it. It is really cute.
Our finished tree! The lighting is bad. Sorry it is hard to get a good picture!
