Pokhara!

In December, before Christmas our family traveled to a city about 7 hours by bus from Kathmandu, called Pokhara. We actually flew there instead of driving for several different reasons and it was great! The flight took less than 30 minutes and it was so easy. We went to Pokhara to visit several friends there and to encourage and disciple some believers there. We really had a great time. We also were able to distribute school supplies to village children who had come to stay in boarding schools in the city because their villages are too cold in the winter. The school supplies were donated by kids in America during VBS last summer (THANK YOU!!!!!). It was such a privilege to be the ones to deliver the supplies. The kids were so thankful to receive them and we had a great time playing with them and sharing the Truth with them. They listened intently as we told them about a God who loves them abundantly. We also were able to visit a woman named Pasang who has cancer. God has done some amazing things in her family over the past year and although Pasang is still battling cancer she is doing well and growing in her faith as a new believer. God is using her story to show His love and Truth to those around her. It was a privilege to sit with her, hold her hand and remind her how much Jesus loves her and is with her. We spent a lot of time sharing with her both at the hospital and at her home. Although she now has a true relationship with God, she is so afraid to die and we talked a lot about that. We are asking God to heal her body! We know that He can and we are asking that He will. We also got to take a boat ride one day on a beautiful lake in Pokhara. It was so nice, fun and relaxing to be out on the water (even though we were in a paddle boat so we had to work pretty hard on the boat). We were able to see beautiful views of the Himalayan mountains even though it was a little hazy. It was a really great time for us and God taught us a lot of things through our time there! I know God has us here at this time to be a light to these people. It is not always easy at all but it is privilege to be used by Him for His glory.

The small plane we flew in. Keane and Gracie loved it and they even got to sit with the co-pilot on our return trip to Kathmandu.

Keane and Gracie had fun getting the school supplies ready to take to the kids.

Such a great day!
