Catching up in pictures....February!

If you keep up with us on Facebook, you have probably seen many of these pictures but I have been so bad about keeping up with pictures and life here on this blog. Over the next few posts, I am just going to be playing catch up through pictures of the last few months!

Kids in America collected school supplies for kids in Nepal and sent them to us through a program called, "Kits for Kids". In February, we got to give out some of the kits to some kids here in Kathmandu who are from remote mountain villages. We were able to share the Truth with each of them as well. Each kit contained notebooks, pens, pencils, colored pencils, scissors, rulers, pencil sharpeners, etc. Such a blessing and a neat way to show love to those in our community!

Amazingly the NCAA football championship came on ESPN here live. Because of the time difference it started at like 6 am but it was still SO awesome to be able to watch it here. We invited some friends over for an early morning football party and I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We had a blast and of course Ryan loved every minute of it...especially since Alabama won!

The winters are SO cold here and since we have no indoor heat, no electricity for most of the day and water shortage problems, the winters can feel really long. One day we decided to "escape" from the winter here and get away as a family...we went to the Hyatt hotel and enjoyed 24 hours of heat, electricity and as much hot water as we could use! The kids enjoyed hot baths, watching TV anytime they wanted because of the 24 hour electricity, we enjoyed some good food and real, quality time as a family! It was great. Keane and Gracie are best friends and although they frustrate each other daily, they truly love each other. I LOVE this picture because it captures so much of that!

Our friends had a "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" party to celebrate their 3 year olds birthday. I made these homemade pirate costumes. The kids had a blast and it was so much fun playing dress up!

In February, we also had the privilege of attending a marriage/family retreat with many of our national brothers and sisters. Our teammates were the ones who organized the event and a team from America led the retreat. We had a wonderful, refreshing time. It was a very unique experience and we praise God for the opportunity! 

The group from the retreat. They also had a great children's program and we were able to stay at a hotel about 1 hour outside of Kathmandu. It was COLD but it was so refreshing to be outside the city and the mountains were beautiful!
